Three Lamentations

 
Lamentation 1
 

She found no rest
in her soul -
for the Lord had not 
lengthened the bones
of her son
to grow in the stature 
of men
 
 
 

Lamentation 2
 

She cried alone throughout
the city,
for all her children
were gone, and
none of them did
seek the Lord
 
 
 

Lamentation 3
 

She called nightly 
to the Lord
in desperation,
but the Lord
